Buccaneer recently successfully completed phase one of its support for the Generating Medicare Physician Quality Performance Measurement Results (GEM) project.  GEM is a large Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Special Study project sponsored by the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  Buccaneer teamed with MassPro, a Massachusetts-based QIO, to execute the large data analytics project.  Buccaneer provided all the IT technical infrastructure and security services on the project.  The GEM project analyzed physician performance based on a number of quality heath measures.

 

Buccaneer developed, configured, and maintained the IT infrastructure necessary to support dozens of remote researchers analyzing an extremely large data set of Medicare Part A, B, and D data.  Due to the sensitivity of the data, Buccaneer provided a comprehensive risk assessment to the government as well as managed a full independent penetration test of the environment.
