Buccaneer Successfully Completes Major Email System Overhaul
Warrenton, VA - Buccaneer Computer Systems & Service, Inc. has successfully completed the first phase of a major re-architecture and upgrade of the email system that supports the Center for Medicare and Medicaid's QualityNet program. This complex project migrated users from a distributed email system maintained at local offices into a robust centralized system based in Warrenton. The email migration involved QIO offices located in every US state and totaled over 3,000 users.
The new email system provides CMS with a highly-available, fault tolerant system designed to enhance the system's performance, reliability, and ease of maintenance. The project was highly successful and was completed on-time and on-budget. The final phase of the email upgrade project will involve migrating user from Novell GroupWise to a Microsoft Exchange email system.
