Buccaneer Helps Launch CROWNWeb System
WARRENTON, VA, February 1, 2009 – Buccaneer Computer Systems & Service, Inc. (Buccaneer) provided critical support to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) launch of the new Consolidated Renal Operations in a Web-enabled Network - Web 1.0 (CROWNWeb) system. CROWNWeb serves the needs of more than 16,000 kidney dialysis and kidney disease support organizations nationwide. These organizations provide care for then more than 500,000 citizens who suffer from kidney diseases nationwide. The CROWNWeb application provides an Internet portal for users to track patient care information and provide quality of care reporting.
More than than two years in development, CROWNWeb is a sophisticated java application running in a 3-tier secure architecture with connectivity to mainframe and other system architectures. Buccaneer engineered and implemented the network and server technical infrastructure, performed full functional and performance testing, and supported the security analysis and accreditation of the new application.
