Buccaneer Wins SDPS Phase II Infrastructure Support Contract with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
WARRENTON, VA, June 5, 2009 – Buccaneer Computer Systems & Service, Inc. (Buccaneer) has been awarded the Standard Data Processing System (SDPS) Infrastructure Support contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The contract is valued at $126 million over five years. SDPS and Health Care Quality Improvement System (HCQIS) applications support critical government initiatives aimed at improving the quality of healthcare beneficiaries in the United States.
The SDPS Phase II tasks include network, server, and storage attached network (SAN) administration and engineering, comprehensive independent testing services, help desk operations, security, production control, configuration management, and IT and desktop support services for the 53 Quality Improvement Offices (QIOs), 17 End-Stage Renal Disease networks, and the Clinical Data Abstraction Center (CDAC). In addition, Buccaneer has been tasked with the operation and maintenance of data center operations and the program and project management services that support these tasks.
