Buccaneer Wins Quality Improvement Evaluation System (QIES) Contract with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
WARRENTON, VA, August 12, 2009 – Buccaneer Computer Systems & Service, Inc. (Buccaneer) has been awarded the Quality Improvement Evaluation System (QIES) contract with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The period of performance for the contract is nine years. QIES is the key source of quality data for CMS and is critically integral to many of CMS’ quality of care activities including the Survey and Certification program, the Administrator’s quality indicators for Nursing Homes and Home Health Agencies, as well as, data validation and survey process enhancement initiatives. It is CMS’ major tracking, analysis, and data repository system for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1974 (CLIA) provider quality of care.
The QIES tasks include systems development and enhancements, system validation testing, network and server support, help desk operations, data management, training, security, production control, configuration management, and project and program management services that support all the QIES tasks.
